OFFICIAL PRESS NOTE
AURA SOLUTION COMPANY LIMITED CONFIRMS FINAL SUSPENSION OF MR. KOUAKOU ADOU ANTOINE AND WITHDRAWAL OF ITS INVESTMENT PROGRAMME IN CONGO AND AFRICA
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
11 September 2026
Brazzaville, Republic of Congo
Aura Confirms the Circumstances Behind the Decision
Aura Solution Company Limited (“Aura”) confirms the immediate and final suspension of Mr. Kouakou Adou Antoine, formerly President of Aura Congo, together with the withdrawal of Aura’s planned investment programme and institutional support for the Republic of Congo and related African initiatives.Aura considers it necessary to explain clearly the circumstances that led to this decision, particularly because the consequences extend far beyond the individuals directly involved.
According to Aura’s assessment, the breakdown began after a woman entered Mr. Kouakou Adou Antoine’s personal life, and the circumstances surrounding that relationship subsequently became directly intertwined with his responsibilities to Aura.
What initially concerned a private and personal matter progressively developed into a situation that affected the professional relationship between Mr. Antoine and Aura. Personal considerations began to overlap with matters requiring independent professional judgment, institutional responsibility and loyalty to the commitments entrusted to him by Aura.Aura’s concern is not the existence of a personal relationship itself. Individuals are entitled to their private lives. The concern arises when personal circumstances involving a woman begin to influence or interfere with the responsibilities of a senior representative entrusted with major institutional interests.
In Aura’s assessment, the decisions and conduct that followed this personal situation ultimately undermined the trust, confidence and institutional cooperation necessary for Aura to continue its planned commitments in Congo and Africa.Aura had placed significant confidence in Mr. Kouakou Adou Antoine and had entrusted him with responsibilities connected to an exceptionally ambitious programme. Those responsibilities required him to maintain a clear distinction between his private circumstances and the interests, commitments and strategic objectives of Aura.
Aura considers that this separation was no longer adequately maintained.
As a result, a situation that originated in the personal life of one individual and involved one woman ultimately developed into a matter affecting corporate governance, institutional confidence and major international investment decisions.Aura considers this particularly serious because the potential consequences are not limited to Mr. Antoine, the woman involved or their personal circumstances. They extend to the wider investment programme and to the people and institutions that could have benefited from Aura’s proposed activities.
One Woman — Consequences for Millions
Aura considers it deeply regrettable that the circumstances surrounding one woman’s involvement in Mr. Kouakou Adou Antoine’s personal life/second wife ultimately contributed to consequences extending far beyond the individuals involved. The proposed Aura programme was not a small private project or an ordinary commercial transaction. It represented a major institutional vision for the Republic of Congo and Africa, involving substantial investment, financial development, strategic partnerships and long-term economic opportunities.
The programme had the potential to influence employment, income, investment, financial services, business development and economic opportunities for millions of people.Aura therefore considers it profoundly unfortunate that circumstances originating from a private personal relationship were allowed to become intertwined with responsibilities connected to an investment programme of such exceptional importance.
The company believes that no personal relationship, personal conflict or private circumstance should be allowed to compromise an institutional responsibility of this magnitude.
Aura was prepared to place substantial capital, institutional resources and international relationships behind its vision for Congo and Africa. Such a commitment could only proceed where the individuals entrusted with representing Aura were able to demonstrate complete professional independence and place institutional responsibilities above personal considerations.According to Aura’s assessment, that necessary separation was compromised.The resulting situation ultimately forced Aura to reconsider whether it could continue to place its capital, reputation and international commitments behind the programme under the circumstances that had developed. Aura deeply regrets that the consequences of a personal situation have reached this level.
The future of Congo and Africa is greater than any individual and greater than any personal relationship.
Aura cannot allow an investment programme intended to create opportunities for millions of people to be placed at risk because of circumstances originating in the private life of one representative.The company therefore considers the withdrawal of its programme a matter of institutional responsibility rather than a personal dispute.Aura's decision has been made because the company must protect its capital, its institutional commitments, its international relationships and the interests of the people who would ultimately be affected by the success or failure of such a programme.
What could have become a major long-term investment partnership has instead been placed in jeopardy by circumstances that, in Aura’s assessment, originated from a personal relationship involving one woman and subsequently became inseparable from the professional and institutional responsibilities of Mr. Kouakou Adou Antoine.
Aura considers this outcome deeply regrettable.
Nevertheless, the company cannot subordinate its institutional responsibilities to personal circumstances, regardless of the individuals involved.
One Final Chance Given for the Sake of Humanity
Despite the seriousness of the situation, Aura did not immediately proceed to the final cancellation.On humanitarian grounds, Aura Vice President Mr. Alex Hartford requested that Mr. Kouakou Adou Antoine be given one final opportunity to resolve the matter through dialouge. Mr.Hartford recognised that completely suspending Aura’s activities in Congo could have consequences for millions of people, their employment, income, businesses and future opportunities.For that reason, he requested that Mr. Antoine put the personal matter aside, acknowledge the situation, provide an apology and submit a formal written communication to Aura explaining the circumstances.
The purpose was simple: to save the wider investment programme and protect the interests of the Congolese people and the African continent from being affected by a personal matter.
The Final Opportunity Was Declined
Mr. Kouakou Adou Antoine declined to provide the requested formal response and did not take the steps necessary to resolve the matter.Aura therefore concluded that the personal circumstances could no longer be separated from the institutional responsibilities attached to his position.At that point, Aura had no responsible alternative but to proceed with the complete suspension of Mr. Antoine.
Withdrawal of Aura’s Congo and African Investment Programme
As a direct consequence, Aura is withdrawing its previously contemplated investment and institutional programme in the Republic of Congo and associated African initiatives.
This includes the withdrawal of support relating to:
the proposed banking licence;
major investment commitments;
financial and institutional development programmes;
strategic partnerships;
international business projects;
related African expansion programmes;
associated international agreements, treaties and protocols; and
other institutional commitments connected with the proposed programme.
Aura is also withdrawing the support and governmental engagement previously pursued in connection with the proposed investment programme, including discussions and support involving relevant French and United States authorities.
An Extraordinary Opportunity Has Been Lost
Aura had considered an investment programme of an exceptionally large scale in relation to the Congolese economy, based upon its belief in the country's potential and its willingness to participate in long-term economic development.Such a commitment required an extraordinary level of trust, stability, responsibility and institutional discipline.Aura cannot responsibly commit extraordinary capital where a personal situation has become sufficiently intertwined with corporate decision-making to undermine those fundamental requirements.The company therefore considers the cancellation a deeply regrettable loss of opportunity for Congo and Africa.
Final Suspension of Mr. Kouakou Adou Antoine
Effective 6 September 2026, Mr. Kouakou Adou Antoine is completely suspended from Aura.All positions, titles, functions, responsibilities, mandates, powers and authorities previously granted to him are withdrawn.He is no longer authorised to represent Aura Solution Company Limited, Aura Congo or any Aura-affiliated entity.He may not negotiate, sign, approve, commit, receive funds, arrange financing, make investment proposals, represent Aura before governments or financial institutions, or otherwise create any obligation or commitment in Aura’s name.Any previous title, correspondence, business card, introduction or historical authority shall not constitute continuing authority.
Aura’s Final Position
Aura emphasises that this decision was not taken lightly.The company made a final humanitarian effort precisely because it understood that the consequences could extend to millions of people.
That opportunity was declined.
Aura therefore considers the matter closed and final.
The company’s position is that a personal situation involving one woman ultimately contributed to the breakdown of the institutional relationship and the loss of a major investment opportunity for Congo and Africa.Aura regrets that a matter originating in the personal life of one individual has resulted in consequences of such a broad institutional and economic nature.Nevertheless, Aura has a responsibility to protect its capital, governance standards, institutional reputation, investors and stakeholders.
No individual, no personal relationship and no private circumstance can be permitted to override the responsibilities attached to an investment programme of this magnitude.
The suspension of Mr. Kouakou Adou Antoine and the withdrawal of the affected Aura investment programme are final and effective immediately as of 11 September 2026.
